The 2023 Players Championship continues on Saturday with the third round at TPC Sawgrass, but before it does, the weather-delayed second round needs to be completed Saturday morning. Round 3 tee times will be released upon the completion of the second round. Once they are released, they will be reproduced at the bottom of this post.
Predicating tee times for Round 3
Once the second round is finally complete, the cut will be made, and we will be set for an exciting weekend at TPC Sawgrass, where some of the best players in the world will battle for the $4.5 million winner’s prize.
We won’t know tee times for Saturday’s third round until after the final putt drops at the end of the second round, which resumed Saturday morning at 7 a.m. ET, but we can look to the past to get a good idea of what the tee times will end up looking like.
Last year’s Players was hit with bad weather, so the third round didn’t get started until Sunday. But in 2021, the third round was unaffected by weather and, therefore, can be a good guide for this year’s tee times.
On Saturday in 2021, Victor Perez got the third round started all alone at 8:00 a.m. ET. The final pairing, featuring Lee Westwood and Matthew Fitzpatrick, teed off at 2 p.m. ET. Given this year’s rain delay, players will likely be grouped in threesomes, with the final pairing teeing off late afternoon on Saturday.
